Building Capgemini’s creative powerhouse: from vision to delivery

The task

Capgemini, a global leader in consulting and technology, needed a new cutting-edge website that could serve as the centerpiece of its digital presence while aligning with its global brand identity. The challenge was to re-platform existing site (from Drupal to Wordpress VIP) and re-design it to deliver a website that seamlessly blends content discovery, functionality and user experience to meet the needs of its diverse, global audience (60-80k website visits a month).

The solution

As part of Capgemini’s in-house agency (almost a 100 people today, but only 5 when I started), I led the redesign of the company’s flagship website. Collaborating with Capgemini’s top management (including the CTO and CMO), service leaders, and cross-functional delivery teams, I overhauled the site’s architecture and taxonomy. I also developed a responsive UI and designed custom workflows for WordPress CMS to simplify content management for over 100 daily contributors.

My approach centered on user-centric design, emphasizing modern, simple aesthetics that put content at the forefront. I ensured accessibility compliance to accommodate the platform’s broad and diverse audience. Beyond building the new capgemini.com, over the course of the years I assembled and led a 20-person, multinational design team over my 14 years with the company. My contributions extended to brand identity projects, advertising campaigns, motion design, and digital platforms for both internal teams and Capgemini’s clients, consistently aligning creative outputs with business goals.

The outcome

During my tenure, my team and I delivered over 100 branding, advertising and digital products (for web and mobile) for Capgemini and its global clients, including major projects like capgemini.com and odigo.com. This experience taught me to balance creativity with business insight, enabling me to establish in-house services that enhanced the company’s digital footprint, staying on par or exceeding competences and quality of many external digital agencies which worked for Capgemini at the time. I the process I played a fundamental role in buidling a hub of design excellence recognized and highly-valued throughout the organization.
